NZHTA is proud to release two new competitions for students engaged in learning History in New Zealand Secondary Schools, and one for Year 10 students. Details about these competitions can be found below with more information to be found by following the relevant link.
All entries must be received at the specified address by the 10th August and must have an official NZHTA entry form attached. These can be downloaded from the NZHTA site.
Year 10 Historical Fiction Competition
This Competition is aimed at current Year 10 students and requires of them to write a piece of historical fiction based on an historical event.
There are four prizes for this competition, all of which have been generously donated by Willsonscott Publishing, of four $30 iTunes vouchers. The categories are: Best Story, Runner Up Best Story, Best Fictional Historical Character and Most Convincing Historical Setting.
Year 11 Historical Poster Competition
Current Year 11 students are asked to produce a poster commemorating the 25th Anniversary of New Zealand’s nuclear free status.
The main prize for this competition of an iPod Touch with iBooks and MyTour preloaded has been generously donated by NZHistory.net. Two other prizes of $30 Prezzy cards are being gifted by NZHTA.
Year 12 Magazine Article Competition
Aimed at current Year 12′s this competition is more rigorous in it’s expectations.
First prize for this competition is also an iPod Touch with iBooks and MyTour App’s preloaded, has also been generously donated by NZHistory.net. Second and third prizes are a $50 and $30 Prezzy card respectively.
